Peninsula Mornington Cabs is a TAC and WorkSafe approved transport provider serving the entire Mornington Peninsula. If you've been injured in a transport accident or workplace incident, we provide safe, reliable, dignified transport to medical appointments, therapy sessions, rehabilitation, and daily essentials, with direct billing where eligible so you don't pay out of pocket. The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) covers transport costs for people injured in transport accidents in Victoria, and WorkSafe Victoria covers workers injured on the job. If your claim is accepted, both schemes can pay for taxi transport to medical appointments, hospital visits, allied health (physio, OT, psychology), and other treatment related travel. To use this benefit you generally need an accepted TAC or WorkSafe claim, a claim number, and your treating doctor's authorisation for transport, your case manager can confirm this. We can help walk you through the booking process if you're new to it.
Direct Billing, MPTP and Other Payment Options
Where your claim is accepted and the trip is approved, we can bill TAC or WorkSafe directly, so you don't need to pay upfront and claim back later. If your trip isn't yet approved, you can pay at the time and submit the receipt to your case manager for reimbursement. We also accept the Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP), a separate Victorian Government subsidy for people with a disability or significant mobility need, run through Safe Transport Victoria and Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria (CPVV). MPTP members get a 50% subsidy on the fare, up to $60 per trip, using an MPTP smartcard that taps like an EFTPOS card at the end of the ride, tolls and airport fees aren't covered by the subsidy and are paid by the passenger as usual, and MPTP can't be combined with other transport concessions on the same trip. Alongside TAC, WorkSafe and MPTP, we also accept Cabcharge for clients whose transport is arranged or billed that way, along with standard card and cash payment. Most of our drivers have been doing this work for years, they are patient and unhurried, familiar with mobility needs, discreet, reliable, and locally based, and know every hospital, clinic and allied health centre on the Peninsula. Sedan and Silver Taxi suit solo clients with light mobility needs, SUV/Wagon gives easier entry and more legroom, and Maxi Taxi gives extra space for clients with crutches, walkers, or larger mobility aids. For wheelchair accessible transport, mention your needs at booking and we'll arrange the right vehicle. Book by calling 0433 238 017 with your claim number ready, through our booking page with your claim number in the notes, or by email. For recurring appointments like weekly physio, we can set up standing bookings so you don't have to call each time.
